FAQ

The maximum speed of small centrifuges ranges from about 4,000 to 6,000 revolutions per minute (RPM). The faster S-class models can rotate at speeds of up to 8,000 RPM and deliver results in 3 minutes or less.

Small centrifuges use centrifugal force to separate components in a sample on the basis of their density. These are commonly used in laboratories to separate samples such as blood and urine. The separated components are then further analyzed in order to provide useful information for diagnostic or research purposes.

Angle rotor 1133 with decanting aid is used for washing cells. "Washing" in this regard means centrifugation of a cell suspension (such as blood). The supernatant is removed and replaced by another liquid. This is then centrifuged again, the supernatant is removed again and replaced with the new liquid. This procedure is usually repeated three times. The purpose of this procedure is to remove the original liquid, as this could distort the analysis. You can use the rotor to empty (decant) all test tubes via the top of the tube and do not have to pipette them individually. HETTICH offers a fully automatic cell washing solution with the ROTOLAVIT II.

The hematocrit is used to determine the percentage by volume of erythrocytes in the blood.

No, the hematocrit rotor can only be used in the Hematocrit 200 centrifuge.

MANUAL CENTRIFUGE

OPERATE INDEPENDENTLY ANYWHERE

The adaptable manual centrifuge can be simply clamped to any benchtop, with no need for electricity. Its self-lubricating drive system makes it virtually maintenance-free.

EBA 200 | 200 S

TOP PERFORMANCE FOR SMALL LABORATORIES

The EBA 200 and EBA 200 S are practical, compact centrifuges for small sample sizes. The high speed S model can deliver reliable results in 3 minutes or less. An 8-place fixed angle rotor is included to hold standard blood and urine tubes up to 15 ml in capacity.

EBA 270

SUPERIOR SEPARATION RESULTS IN MEDICAL APPLICATIONS

The EBA 270 is a small centrifuge with a swing-out rotor that has been developed specifically for use in clinical settings. It can centrifuge the blood tubes and urine tubes up 15 ml in volume at a maximum speed of 4,000 RPM / 2,254 RCF. Its 90° rotor is ideally suited for spinning blood tubes containing a separating gel.

EBA 280 | 280 S

SIMPLE ROTOR CHANGE FOR GREATER VERSATILITY

The EBA 280 and EBA 280 S offer exceptional user comfort and a choice of 6 rotors. The rotor can be removed and replaced easily thanks to the quick release system. The rotor locks in place and remains secure without the use of tools or extra effort. The backlit digital control panel offers the opportunity to save 10 multiple program settings.

HAEMATOKRIT 200

HAEMATOKRIT DETERMINATION IN ONLY 7 MINUTES

The HAEMATOKRIT 200 is a fast and efficient centrifuge for determination of the hematocrit count. It runs at 13,000 RPM and accommodates up to 24 capillary tubes to a maximum RCF of 16,060. Results can be clearly viewed with the integrated Haematocrit reader in the rotor lid.
